Notes of citrus, melon, peach, and apple. This Riesling is pleasingly off-dry, or the German equivalent halbtrocken. Bright and juicy up front with a pithy texture on the finish.
Our southernmost vineyard, Jamieson, was harvest first on October 9th and 10th, 2019. Grishaw Vineyard, situated slightly to the north, was harvested next on the 18th, and our northernmost vineyard, Irish, last on the 26th. The fruit was fermented in separate stainless steel tanks with some light lees contact. The three tanks were racked and blended together on December 13th, 2018 where the wine aged on its fine lees until it was bottled on October 3rd, 2019.
Barbeque dishes with sweet and tangy sauce. Brisket, pulled pork or chicken.
Designed to age well, this wine is ready to drink now through at least 2033.
Prior to the printing press, books and manuscripts were copied by hand. Much of the world’s great written works were destroyed throughout history, but some survived in the monasteries, where monks would both copy manuscripts and tend to grapes. This monastic movement gave the wine industry the knowledge we have today.
