Michigan winters have always been the perfect time to cozy up with a good book. Check out the discussion posts to see what we're currently reading. Stop by any time after 5 to sit and discuss the book with other avid readers while enjoying a glass of spectacular Mari Vineyards wine. If you don’t finish the book, no problem! Feel free to still come finish a glass with us and enjoy the comradery of fellow book worms.

All day, every Friday, January 4 - March 29

 

Every Friday until March 29th, we will be hosting an all day locals happy hour! Residents of Grand Traverse & Leelanau County can stop by and enjoy $2 off glasses of wine & artisan charcuterie boards.

Friday Sunrise Yoga
Every Friday, July 5th - August 30th, 7:30 - 9am

 

Summertime in Traverse City is beautiful! Immerse yourself in that beauty at Mari Vineyards Fridays in July and August. Check in at 7:15am; yoga begins at 7:30am. Mats are included as well as a complimentary mimosa, coffee or tea following practice.

Yoga in the Vines is a one-hour gentle class hosted in the vineyard overlooking the clear waters of Traverse City. The yoga is followed by an optional wine tasting.

February 2nd, 3-5pm

 

Luke Alan is excited to bring his unique, classical style to Northern Michigan. Performing a mixture of classical standards, romantic repertoire, and contemporary arrangements, Luke’s goal is to introduce the world of the classical guitar to a brand new audience.

Luke's music is one-of-a-kind. His years of work with a Masters in classical guitar is evident in his performance, you don't want to miss it!

Blake Elliott has a recipe for a sweet sound: start with a little folk, throw in some jazz, add a touch of funk, and finish off with a healthy dose of the blues and soul. Coupled with a trademark vintage look and style, Elliott delivers an eclectic mix of original music that blends the present with the past.

Wineries of Old Mission Peninsula Trail Event: Romancing the Riesling
February 16th, 10am - 5pm

C’est l’amour – of all things Riesling, that is. This annual event celebrates ‘the grape that defines white wine’ and the varietal for which the Northern Michigan wine region is best known. Each winery pairs a favorite Riesling – of which recent awards include best in the world, and scores of 93+ points from other highly respected international reviews --with a delectable local food offering, all in honor of the famed grape. Taking place Valentine's Day weekend, this event is sure to help you feel the love.

Music at Mari: Ron Getz
February 23rd, 3-5pm

 

Musician Ron Getz plays improvisational guitar that crosses the lines between pop, funk and rock, framed in the styling of classical strings music. He has performed throughout the U.S. and Europe, but enjoys the northern Michigan audiences.

Ron has performed with a variety of jazz greats, including Arthur Blythe, Billy Hart, John Scofield, Steve Grossman, Bill Evans, Branford Marsalis and Marvin “Smitty” Smith (from the Jay Leno Tonight Show Band). He has also shared the stage with blues greats B.B. King, Koko Taylor, Matt “Guitar” Murphy, Jeff Healy, Johnnie Lang and Kenny Wayne Sheppard.

Music at Mari: Chris Smith
April 20th, 3 - 5pm

 

Chris Smith is a Chicago-based musician, native to Traverse City, who has been performing around the Midwest for the last 6 years. His musical influences stem from artists such as The Beatles, Jeff Buckley, Sufjan Stevens, Damien Rice, Iron & Wine, Bon Iver and Martin Sexton. For the last two years, Chris has been based in Chicago playing around the city at many local venues, enjoying what the city has to offer. However, he likes to find time to retreat from city life and make it north for gigging and seeing family. Aside from being an artist and performer, Chris has dedicated years of world touring as an ambassador of arts education in schools and communities around the globe with the non-profit organization, The Young Americans.
